After a couple of interviews on radio, Paul got together a six-piece band (originally called Retrospecs) and played to packed lunch-time audiences at The Theatre in Chipping Norton on Sundays. Word spread and other gigs were played in and around Oxfordshire - notably The Bell in Hook Norton! The line-up then was: Paul (drums and vocals), Peter (keyboards), Frank (acoustic guitar and vocals), Dave (bass guitar and vocals), Jake (electric guitar) and Ian (lead guitar). Gradually, as time passed, the line up changed into a new more beat-group-like band, with two guys from the old days of Precious Little, Ben Grove (rhythm guitar) and Graeme Taylor (lead guitar) with the addition of Steve Morley (bass guitar), completing the new line up alongside Paul (drums and vocals) and Peter Pontzen (keyboards). Life for this line up began in 1986 at a recording session, which was also videoed, in a rehearsal studio near Blackfriars.
